WISDOM DUMB TO VIOLENCE (A call for peace in Syria) Caught in the midst of fears Unseen tears wear my joy out I fix my eyes on a nation Suffering from the notion Of a fellow whose conscience Is as dead as dodo; I will not gaze long My heart beats like a gong My vision becomes blurry Heart and eyes are weary Of watching violence as a movie. Assad saddens all His heinous deeds irk all He justifies injustice unjustly Fogetting peace is husband to justice. O world, what do we do to tame the untamable? O world, how do we approach the reproach which mocks humanity? Is wildness not weird to humanity? Does violence not lame us all? Does not Syria house humans like we? Do we watch while humans are slaughtered like rams for the sanctification of a motive Which depicts brutal selfishness? O world,we must speak with a voice An audible voice blind to fear, colour and race Then Assad will shiver and quiver Our strategies must be sanctified Or do we fight violence with violence? O Earth, hearken unto the voice of thy children Take no more blood for your purification O God,bestow upon your children wisdom dumb to violence Lest we sacrifice the innocent in a quest Of defeating the unjust. Peace will reign as king in Syria But we must unite as a knight And fight evil with strategies Revealing love and justice; Fire burning in water.
