WONDER WHY Its so difficult for most African countries to pass the test of good governance? If so, you are not alone. That aside the correlation between development and governance is very positive i.e. the more of the one, leads ipso facto to the more of the other. That being the case; considering the evidence from comparing the inherent factors in the 3rd world, which hamper development, and similar factors in the 1st world which breed development; it would not be far from the truth to assert that the mechanism of good governance in Africa is private property. Sadly, it is easier said than done cause Africa is still too dark for the light of good governance at the end of the tunnel to shine through. Hence its not so difficult to see why African countries consistently fail the governance or transparency test. The absence of the influence of likes of Thomas Sankara, and Patrice Lumumba in African governance lessons appears to be a fatal flaw, which is not irreversible, thank God. Therefore the only issue is the price for this education in governance, which Africans must pay to achieve the threshold of development. Unfortunately judging from history, there are very few African countries that can afford the tuition for good governance, despite the enormous wealth they sit upon. Given that Africa is very much into the internet of things there is hope. Think about it!
