WORDS Get the facts before the facts get you. The facts are always out there better to get them and know them. When ignored they are still out there and they can come back get you. Get them, value them. Like truth they can be your friend or become your enemy. They can make you feel good; they can make you feel bad. The problem speaking without facts is it is gossip. Gossip may be true but slander is always false, a wise young friend shared that with me recently. This can separate friends, family, congregations, nations and erode your trust. We live in a culture filled with unrestrained words that are void of facts. That is not Godly, that is not Christ like. One of the most challenging scriptures about Jesus is Luke 11:53–54 (NKJV) — 53 And as He said these things to them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to assail Him vehemently, and to cross-examine Him about many things, 54 lying in wait for Him, and seeking to catch Him in something He might say, that they might accuse Him. The NIV says “waiting to catch Him in something He might say”. Jesus was never caught by His own words but it happens every day in our times. If you aspire to or feel you are called to prophetic ministry, or any ministry, remember it is a Ministry Of Words and those words are as creditable as your words. A great prayer for this is found in Ephesians 4:27–32 (NKJV) — 27 nor give place to the devil. 28 Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need. 29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. 32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. Very powerful but not easy that’s a high standard but nothing worthwhile comes easy. Matthew 12:37 NASB For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned. My definition of communication the disciplined use of my words Matthew 12:37 MSG Its your heart, not the dictionary that gives meaning to your words. A good person produces good deeds and words season after season. An evil person is blight on the orchard. Let me tell you something: Every one of these careless words is going to come back to haunt you. There will be a time of Reckoning. Words are powerful; take them seriously. Words can be your salvation. Words can also be your damnation. Your heart gives meaning to your words. A good person produces good deeds season after season, every careless word, WORDS ARE POWERFUL, TAKE YOUR WORDS SERIOUSLY AND TAKE YOU COMMUNICATION, the disciplined use of your words, SERIOUSLY. 2 Timothy 1:7 NIV [7] For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. The Spirit God gave us. Carelessness and self-discipline are mutually exclusive. Use it or lose it. Galatians 5:22-23 NASB [22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness [23] gentleness, and self-control; against such things there is no law. Self-control, discipline are fruit of the Spirit in me. Very challenging scriptures to meditate on pray over and do them. Psalm 19:14 (NKJV) — 14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer. Blessings, Philip Elston
