Wabtec Announcement – Wabtec Foundation Scholarship Recipients Selected We are delighted to announce that the recipients of the Wabtec Foundation Scholarship Awards for 2014 have been selected. Congratulations to the recipients, and thanks to all those who submitted applications! As you know, this is the fourth year the Wabtec Foundation has offered this opportunity. This program is administered by Scholarship Management Services and is designed to assist the children of our valued Wabtec employees who plan to continue their education in college. We are pleased to report that many applications were received from all over the world, and the Foundation has awarded six (6) scholarships this year in the amount of $2,500 each. We are also pleased to renew eleven awards granted over the last three years for a total of 17 scholarships to be awarded for the 2014-2015 academic year. The award recipients for 2014 are as follows: · Asrar Alimohamed, son of Iqbal Alimohamed, of Wabtec Transit Division in Spartanburg, SC · Oskar Bednarek, son of Tomasz Bednarek, of Vapor Bus International in Buffalo Grove, IL · Briana O’Neal, daughter of Todd O’Neal, of Rubber Products in Greensburg, PA · John Paciotti, son of John Paciotti, of WRE in Germantown, MD · Crystal Rose, daughter of Michael Rose, of Rubber Products in Greensburg, PA These awards will be renewable for up to 3 years as long as the students maintain a GPA of no less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. We are also making a special one-time award to Shannon Gorman, daughter of Joseph Gorman, of WRE in Cedar Rapids, IA. Shannon will be attending the U.S. Naval Academy, therefore her educational expenses will be provided by the Academy. However, since she qualified as an award recipient, we will be providing her a one-time award of $2,500 to assist with incidental expenses. Please be reminded that if your son or daughter applied this year and was not awarded a scholarship, they are encouraged to apply again next year. Also, if you have a son or daughter that may be in high school and eligible next year, we encourage them to apply as well. We are thrilled to be able to support these young people as they journey to achieve their academic and career goals!
