Waking early I decided to go for a walk,I have always been an early riser and do when possible like to head out before first light(Just me and the waking Earth). So of I go,through the village, down the jittys avoiding the roads as much as possible, past an ancient oak at the side of the path and into the fields, heading towards the old brick yard the path is over grown with brambles and nettles and rosebay willow herb (If I dont get stung and scratched then its not a proper walk). The old brick yard is now just piles of debris that Mother Earth is slowly and beautifully reclaiming, but the main reason for coming this way is there is an old pit that they would have dug clay from to make the bricks which as now turned into a pond, and at this time of year the pond is covered with startlingly white water lilys, truly beautiful.I rest for few minutes and soak then up then carry on. Heading up hill now towards the village of Holbrook(there used to be a lace making tradition in this village in the late 1800 hundreds, maybe connected to the mills at Belper which isnt to far away).Holbrook as space in my heart for in the village hall we hold our monthly drumming circle, and the Earth Seeds weekends. Stepping out of the village we start heading down hill towards Booths Wood,I enter the woods to a chorus of rooks having their morning meeting,I head for a place of power we use when doing shamanic stuff with folks in the woods, and I sit and I listen, and watch the first rays of from Grandfather Sun penetrate the canopy, illuminating the woodland floor, its then I notice all the cobwebs like thin lines of clear crystal all around me,the sight took my breath away, and made my heart sing with joy, only Mother Life as the Power to do this, and I surrender to her splendor..I leave as small offering say my thanks and head out of the woods, but first I collect some water from a natural spring that flows out of the woods. I start to head for home, across a couple of fields startling some bullocks who in turn startle some rooks, who startle some wood pigeons, sorry I shout. On to the old railway track which again Mother Earth is taking back, and back into the village, the shop is open and I suddenly have the urge for bacon and mushroom butties. Go Well People.
