Want to see if you have a boxing COACH or just a boxing TRAINER? A coach, teaches..........and trainer trains you. A trainer will get you in shape but not teach you about the sweet science. A coach does both, teaches and gets you in shape. Next time a coach says, get aggressive go forward attack him get on him ask them, Ok, once I get aggressive and move forward, what do I do? What punches do I throw? What do I do if he doesnt move back and stays there fighting and I start getting caught? Do I still keep moving forward? A boxing trainer will continue telling you to go forward if you get caught. They do this cause they dont know how it feels to be getting punched over and over. Boxers, ask your coaches questions, if you ask why do we have to do this or that a real coach will explain it in detail and will never get pissed off at you for asking questions. If your coach gets pissed off or ignores you, he doesnt know the answer. This is your life, you have the right to hold these coaches responsible for your safety. Theyve never had a headache from tough sparring or a fight. Theyve never had someone take their air out with a body shot and get attacked. I call these the BALBOA boxing trainers. Theyre going based on how Rocky made a career out of getting his ass kicked for most of the fight then scoring the ko with seconds left. So next tiime your coach asks you to do something in the ring and it doesnt work, ask him to get in the ring and show you how to do what hes asking. #Turniestruth
