Was introduced to honest trailers from someone who knew how I felt about seeing Frozen on New Years Day. It seems their thing is to break apart oddities with a movie with heavy satire, but man... the pre-title intro of this video just had me screaming yes! Hell yes! The more I checked online, the more I noticed that Frozen was like Marmite: You either loved it or hated it. I have points in both sides and fall into the: It was good, but not great. It was over-hyped through the Let it go song (which is amazing in its own right) but shouldnt sell a movie, nor take away the spotlight from the actual heroine (Anna) as it does. (More so in Japan here, too) But Japan got the title 110% right: Anna & the Snow Queen It seemed Disney wanted to do a lot of new progressive things, but split itself too thin that, each element had a flaw which could have been patched up nicely if they decided to make something the main focus. I felt (rather than saw) too many of those little inconsistencies, perhaps kids of this generation wont, thus enjoy it, (which is fine) but I wasnt drawn into the world of a classical Disneyfied story based on old folklore. It was a Pixar-equese, modern American high school fantasy drama that belonged on a live musical stage. If thats what Disney were aiming for, then it worked, thus good. The video here sums up pretty nicely the other things that bugged me with humour :)
