Was walking home from college yesterday and decided to take a different route home..ended up the back of sighthill alomg the canal, seen a shrine of flowers and celtic tops over a bridge reminded Instantly of what happened with cairney ...was walking along thinking surely something can be done to stop these kind of tragedies happening..like some fencing or something.... so I gets to maryhill and dragged into the pub for a minute to speak to a family friend..in the pub a guy is goin around with a folder and petition to sign....I ask what the petition is for and he says his nephew or his cousin drowned in canal 3 weeks ago, same person/shrine I had just seen... so turns out the petition is to get the canal all fenced off, signed it straight away...hopefully council takes it seriously and if it stops any more lifes being taken then it will be so worthwhile...anyone sees it please sign , boy was goin round possil and maryhill last night
