Whats the best thing to do? Keep quiet no matter what and dont even show any response. Get the lawyer first before anything else. A friend of mine rented his flat to some legal foreign workers. He wasnt staying there. The flat was raided and netted an illegal immigrant. He was brought in for a confession. The IO insisted that he signed a statement stating that he knew he was renting the flat to an illegal immigrant. Thankfully he had the fortitude of refusing to sign any statement until he see a lawyer. As usual, the IO tried to instill fear in him. The usual not being cooperative or youll get the maximum in punishment, or we can hold you as long as we want. He stood his ground for the whole day and realeased without signing any statement. His case was subsequently brought in the sub courts. It was dismissed because he stood his ground that he was unaware of the illegal worker and he had done his background checks on the legitimate workers. The key point was he didnt sign any statement.
