Watched Children in Need with my mum and James last night. James insisted we donate as soon as it started (he gave a sizeable amount of his savings) but the experience was at times so shocking and painful as we saw how cruel nature, god, or whatever that power is that the finest of human beings fight with everyday in a sometimes successful attempt to lessen the suffering of those children can be. I cant imagine and hope I never have to what their parents and careers feel. James had what in comparison was a small strawberry mark and the thought that it distressed him was a constant ache. Those people and parents and children who shared their stories last night were quite magnificent. And someone give Gary Barlow a knighthood - surely he is more deserving of the perceived honour than many of the banker boys and so called celebs that have it?
