We are appealing for witnesses after a pedestrian was badly injured in a road traffic collision in Pateley Bridge. The pedestrian, a woman in her 60s, suffered serious head injuries when she was hit by a cyclist on High Street in Pateley Bridge at around 2.40pm on Tuesday 22 July 2014. She has been taken to Harrogate District Hospital for treatment. Her injuries are described as life-threatening. The cyclist, an 18-year-old man who was riding a blue racing bike in the direction of Summerbridge, sustained a cut to his right elbow in the incident. The road is currently closed in both directions as the police examine the scene of the incident. We urge anyone who can help our officers to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 - select option 2 - and ask for Traffic Sergeant Pete Stringer or Skipton Roads Policing Group.
