DIRECTOR OF FOOD BANK - Salary range $50,000 to $65,000 The position is responsible for all warehouse operations, staffing, fleet and food management operations. Ensures compliance with OSHA, Feeding America policy and procedures, and other government programs. Conduct ordering, purchasing and market program to existing partner agencies as well as the Florida Association of Food Banks and community NPOs. Monitor inventory turns and product mix for the food purchase program. As part of the senior management team, participates in the strategic planning process. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES • Hires, trains, delegates, motivate and retain a competent warehouse and operations staff committed to the mission and values of Feeding NEFL. Coaches and develops staff to maximize performance. • Directs the activities involved in the efficient movement of product including receipt, storage and distribution maximizing space, resources and avoiding waste or damages. • Establishes effective procedures and controls for the safe and efficient movement and preservation of product; monitors adherence to established procedures to ensure safety and sanitation measures are followed. • Maintains thorough and up to date knowledge of facility and food distribution management in order to implement innovative ways to improve and maximize efficiency. • Works with Director of Finance to establish operations budget; monitors and approves expenditures for purchases, maintenance of equipment/facility/vehicles, and contracts in accordance with established guidelines; negotiates and manages vendor contracts; identifies ways of reducing expenses and improving efficiency. • Oversees and directs the facility management including safe and efficient operation of equipment, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, heating, air-conditioning and waste management; conducts facility inspections to ensure equipment and facility are operational; identifies opportunities for improvements to reduce waste, schedules and oversees repairs, and manages contractors to ensure compliance to contracts. • Negotiates contracts and manages off-site storage necessitated by expanding needs, monitors space usage, determines products to be stored off-site, and work with warehouse staff to rotate inventory and maximize efficiency. • Cultivate strong relationships with community agencies, Health Department, EPA, OSHA, Fire Department, USDA and Feeding America representatives to ensure community needs and compliance requirements are met. • Identify food procurement needs and potential suppliers, soliciting bids, reviewing bids and selecting suppliers, negotiating and awarding contracts, maintaining vendor relationships. • Order necessary inventory to ensure constant supply and inventory turns • Conduct external marketing of food purchase program to current agency partners, FAFB and other community NPOs • Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS • Thorough knowledge of facility management, inventory management and transportation. • Must be a creative problem-solver with strong organizational, analytical, planning, anticipatory management skills. • Must be able to handle multiple priorities and effectively work with a diverse staff. • Should be at an intermediate level in MS Office and knowledge of Navision a big plus! • Bachelor level college degree required. • Candidate should have at least 10 years experience in warehouse and facility management with demonstrated success in overhauling systems for better efficiency
