We are excited to announce that all forms for our Miss, Teen & Little Miss Pageants are now on our website misstexarkanatwinrivers.org. Again this year, we will be crowning 3 Miss, 3 Teens, and 14 Little Miss winners between two states: Miss & Teen Texarkana Twin Rivers - Arkansas Miss & Teen Texarkana - Texas Miss & Teen Twin Rivers - Texas Little Miss Tittles: Little Miss Texarkana Little Miss Twin Rivers If you would like to compete this year please contact us. Miss Texarkana Scholarship Pageant 2015 GENERAL INFORMATION: The 2015 Miss Texarkana/Twin Rivers Scholarship Pageant will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 6:30pm at the Sullivan Performing Arts Building. Dress rehearsal & Sound checks will be Friday afternoon, January 2, 2015. This is a Miss America preliminary pageant. The new Miss and Teen Texarkana, Texas, and Miss and Teen Twin Rivers will compete in the Miss/Teen Texas Scholarship Pageant June 27th – July 4th of 2015. The new Texarkana Twin Rivers Outstanding Teen will compete in the Miss Arkansas Outstanding Teen Pageant June 9th – June13th of 2015. The new Miss Texarkana Twin Rivers will compete in the Miss Arkansas Scholarship Pageant June 28th - July 4th. All forms necessary for entry in the Miss Texarkana Texas, Miss Twin Rivers, Miss Texarkana Twin Rivers (AR), Miss Texarkana Texas Outstanding Teen, Miss Twin Rivers Outstanding Teen, and Miss Texarkana Twin Rivers Outstanding Teen (AR) pageant are available on line at misstexarkanatwinrivers.org. Completed forms may be sent to the following address: Donna Berry 5911 Richmond Road Apt. 1203 Texarkana, TX 75503 REMEMBER: Your placement in the pageant will be determined by the order in which we receive a contestant’s entry form: First in, last out. Please send your entry forms in ASAP. Deadline for all other paperwork is December 15, 2014. COMPETITION: Competition will include the following: 1) Interview: Miss contestants will have a 9 ½ minute judge’s private interview with a podium. At the end of 9 ½ minutes, the contestant will have an optional 30 seconds to cover any additional issues that she would like to comment on or clarify. Teen contestants have a 8 minute interview with no introduction or closing. (Miss - 25% of Score, Teen - 25% of Score) 2) Physical Fitness in Swimsuit and Aerobic Wear: Miss contestants will model a one-piece or two-piece swimsuit with heels. Any swimsuit, in good taste may be worn. Teens will model in some type of aerobic/active wear clothing as long as the wardrobe is in good taste, is not swimwear, and does not “resemble” swimwear. Shorts must have no less than a 3 inch in-seam. Footwear must be black or white sketchers or Ked-style tennis shoes with NO SOCKS. This phase of competition is designed to see how well the contestant maintains a lifestyle of good physical health, whether she meets the public expectation of a title holder and whether or not she has the confidence needed to be a title holder. (Miss - 15% of score, Teen - 15% of Score) 3) Talent: Talent may be anything you chose that does not cause any health, fire or safety hazards to the audience or damage to the theater, and will be limited to 1 1/2 minutes for Miss and Teen. Back ground music must be on a CD and turned in by December 15, 2014. Miss and Teen - 35% 0f Score). If your talent is an instrumental or a monologue, without back up music, you must turn in a DVD of yourself performing your talent. Remember DECEMBER 15, 2014. 4) Evening Wear: The evening wear phase of competition is designed for the judges to assess the contestant’s beauty, poise, grace and commanding stage presence. Evening gown competition may be in long or short gown or evening pants. (Miss – 20% of score, Teen - 25% of Score) 5) On-Stage Question: One generic on-stage question will be asked of each contestant designed for the contestant to make an on-stage statement of her interests, opinions and aspirations. Miss will answer their On Stage Question immediately following opening number; Teen will answer their On Stage Question in conjunction with Evening Gown competition. (Miss - 5% of Score, Teen - included with Evening Wear score) *****No hair or make-up personnel will be allowed in the dressing rooms during the pageant***** DRESS REHEARSAL AND OPENING NUMBER: Rehearsal will be Friday, January 2, 2015 at the Sullivan Performing Arts Center, Times to be determined. This will be a FULL dress & sound rehearsal. Bring all your competition clothing except your interview outfit. NO ONE is allowed at rehearsals other than the contestants and the Miss Texarkana Twin Rivers Committee members. You may want to bring a jacket or sweater to rehearsal. Opening Number will be a Black Cocktail. You may accent with a color of your choice in your shoes and jewelry. Eligibility and AGE REQUIREMENTS: The Miss and Teen Texarkana Titles are closed to 100 mile radius Of Texarkana on the Texas side. Arkansas you must be a resident of, Clark, Union, Ouachita, Columbia, Howard, Pike, Nevada, Sevier, Miller, Hempstead, Little River or Lafayette counties. The Miss and Teen Twin Rivers Pageant are open to all residents of Texas. Miss contestants must be between 17 and 24 years of age. Contestants must be 17 years old and a High School Senior by the time of their first appearance in a preliminary round of the local or state competition and no older than 24 years of age on December 31, 2015. . Miss contestants must be high school graduates or have successfully completed the G.E.D. testing program for high school equivalency or have successfully completed the academic requirements for entry into a four year college/university degree program by July of 2015. Teen contestants must be 13 years of age by the first day of the state competition, and no older than 17 and a junior in High School. If you have any questions about age eligibility requirements, please contact a board member listed below. ENTRY FEE: The fee to enter the Miss Texarkana TX, Twin Rivers, or Miss Texarkana Twin Rivers Pageant for 2015 is a $100.00 donation in your name to the Children’s Miracle Network (CMN). This fee must be paid by going to MissAmerica4Kids.org and registering as a new contestant. If you registered and competed last year, use a new ID to avoid confusion. Register under the title you are competing for: Miss Texarkana or Miss Twin Rivers in Texas, or Miss Texarkana Twin Rivers in Arkansas. Set a $100.00 goal and then send e-mails out to all of your friends from the same sight to let them know how they can donate and help you reach your goal. When you register, print your receipt showing you have registered. When you reach your $100.00 goal, print the receipt again and send it to us to put with your paperwork. Arkansas and Texas residents should register under their respective state. Be sure you keep a copy for your records also. You will not be allowed to compete without this receipt on file. There is a $100.00 entry fee for the Teen Pageant, payable to the Miss TTR Scholarship Organization. PHOTOS: A black and white wallet size photo, head and shoulders only, must be submitted with your packet for the Judge’s Books. In addition, there is a photogenic award presented in Teen and Miss. You may wish to provide at least a 5x7 color, or black and white photo for the judges to score photogenic. All photos will be returned at Interview the day of competition. Deadline for all paperwork is DECEMBER 15, 2014. PERFORMANCE VIDEOS: DVDs of the competition will be available through Tiger Vision, the Texas High School Broadcast Journalism Department.
