We are officially in the middle of the international adoption - TopicsExpress

We are officially in the middle of the international adoption roller coaster. Right before Christmas our coordinator was discussing with us plans to translate our Dossier... today they called us to tell us they received and e-mail from the IBESR (adoption Authority in Haiti) with a list of the Licensed coordinators and their name was not on it. Our coordinator has their representative in Haiti going to speak to the IBESR today to see if there was a mistake made in the e-mail (and if they are in fact still licensed) because she assures me they completed all the required paperwork the same as in the past and she cannot determine a reason why they would not have their licence renewed. However she didn’t sound to overly confident as she had called a different coordinator to see if we could be transferred to them. The biggest concern is this different coordinator is more than double the cost (specifically this alternative coordinator is nearly $40 000 in fees for one child and $30 000 in fees for an additional sibling... not including the flights, translations, notarization, immigration etc....). In a way it is like being back at step one – researching the different coordinators again... however the other 2 potential coordinators are very possibly already full (each coordinator can only submit a limited number of Dossiers each year – once they have filled up this number they cannot accept/pass along any more). I have spent the day phoning and e-mailing and hope to hear back with more information soon. We are trusting that God’s plan is best. We know His timing is best and that His hand is over all of this. Please pray with us that we would be still and listen to where He is directing us through this bit of a ‘bump’ in the process.
