We are so honored to be asked to make a scale model of Sportsplex Idaho out of cake! The big unveiling event is tonight at the BSU Stueckle Sky Boxes so look for photos of our cake on various media outlets announcing the unveiling. Using only a few photographs, we recreated an architectural rendering of this impressive structure; out of cake! Each of the 5 buildings are cake (the 5th one is shorter and connects the 4 main buildings). Each one is a either a 4 or 5 layer cake that has been covered in various fondant pieces and then the small details were meticulously added throughout yesterday and today. We baked about 110lbs of cake, used 30lbs of buttercream for fillings and crumb coating, and laid over 20lbs of fondant over the cake model!
