We’d like leave you with two hints: 1) since time immemorial in the five directions of the Abya-Yala (“the earth in full maturity,” i.e., a Kuna word referencing the whole of the Americas), the turtle is our mother, a being tied to the beginning of existence, a wise grandmother, knower of the first waters and fertility. 2) The title of the work suggests multiple associations: on the one hand, the extinction of turtles as caused by the mass pollution of water ways, labyrinth waters, entangled waters; and on the other hand, the encounter between cyclical and lineal time.
