We definetly paid it forward today and it felt great to help someone out! We were headed to Effingham shopping with the kids when we came upon a car that a lady had ditched. Thank God she was okay! She was just shookin up a bit, the car was damaged but it can be replaced unlike a persons life. It was a rental car from Chicago and thats where she was headed back too. We let her get in our van and get warm cause it was so cold outside. Another guy pulled her car out of the ditch while my hubby assisted by gettn inside the wrecked vehicle and steering it out. We all stayed till cop got their and we continued to stay. We drove up to the officers shop that he owns their in Hord so we were off the road and safe. Larry drove her car to the shop and the lady rode with me and the kids. She was so nice! This poor lady is actually from Virgina but had flew to Chicago to visit family and had rented a car to go see her Uncle who was ill in Kentucky and unfortunately he passed away before she got their so she had helped with arrangements and had went thru all that and was headed back to Chicago to her sister in laws when she wrecked. After a long wait of police report and phone calls to figure everything out with rental car and all that, we gave her a ride to Efiingham to the train station where she would board on the Amtrak to Chicago. Larry helped her with her luggage and stuff. She was so thankful for us and tried giving Larry money at the end and he said NO..... just pay it forward the next time you see someone in need of help. I truely hope and pray that this lady had a safe trip back to Chicago on the amtrak and that things get better for her. Feeling very blessed to have been there for this lady today and able to help her! We did get our clothes shopping done and so glad to be back home.
