We had a very weird encounter at the park this evening I thought was worth sharing, especially to pass on to Rebecca Cowan. Olivia and I were walking D.D. at the Sevierville City Park about 6:00pm. As we came to a crosswalk area where cars can come across from the main entrance to the parking right by the playground, we stopped to let a vehicle go by since we were messing with the dog. I noticed the man sort of looking at us. I also noticed he had two younger kids in the vehicle with him. Just thought it was sort of odd how he looked at us. But then he went on to exit the park and we walked on just a bit. Then I hear something behind us. I turn to look and he had turned around and came back. As I look behind us, I see him hop out of the car and come toward us. He is closest to Olivia and the dog. He says, Hey, I want to ask you something! I tell Olivia, Come on Olivia! He continues toward us and says, I need to ask you something!, as he is still coming toward us. I said a bit bluntly, Come on Olivia, dont stop!!! We keep walking away. I have already looked around at where the few people are at and thinking in my head what I will do if he keeps toward us. Then he says, Do you know Jesus, continuing on toward us. We sped up a bit and are just looking back at him, walking away. He finally stops, we keep walking, he mumbles more about Jesus, and says, Jesus loves you. At that point he turns to get back in his vehicle and I just simply say, well, he loves you too. Then he is quickly back in his vehicle and driving away. He was in a flat black looking older model Ford Explorer that had some damage to the drivers side. I am always very aware of our surroundings and I am glad I was this time. Not sure what his exact purpose was. I am all for letting people know that Jesus loves them and witnessing to folks. However, you dont turn around and come back to jump out of your car at two gals walking in the park. I was already planning my defense moves if he went after me or Olivia. D.D. was on guard too. Just wanted to let everyone know in case others experience him. I DID NOT get a peaceful spirit from him, as someone sharing Christs love. I got a very creepy, get away from this danger kind of feeling.
