We have all been reminded at some time that eye contact is essential to effective communication. OK its basic but think about it. When was the last time you trusted somebody who wouldnt look you in the eye? To persuade anybody of anything you have to look at your listeners at all times when you speak and when you do you’ll look more honest and likable. How do you do that? Speak from your heart, not from notes. Notes will break your eye contact and put a barrier between you and the audience. Spend less time on crafting every clever phrase and nuance of your argument and more time on being comfortable in front of people.
