We have been able to nail down the details for Jason’s memorial service: it will be Sunday, August 31st at 2pm; held in the auditorium at Savannah Arts Academy on Washington Avenue. Casual attire. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask. I know many people have been asking if there would be a funeral in addition to the memorial service so that they could say ‘good bye’ to Jason. My family doesn’t mean to upset anyone by having him cremated, but we don’t want him to be seen and remembered as a lifeless body. He isn’t in a body here on earth anymore, but in heaven with The Father. Remember him as the friend who always had your back and would do anything for you, the boy who always loved Christmas regardless of how old he got, the man who believed in God’s plan for his life even while he struggled with feeling unworthy, the uncle who couldn’t say no to singing songs or playing bingo, and the son who so desperately wanted his family to be proud of him (and we are!). I’ll remember him as the first best-friend I ever had the pleasure of knowing and loving.
