We mentioned this issue in a post earlier this week. It appears that just prior to the commencement of the OBannon Trial, the NCAA announced its intention to compensate former collegiate football and basketball players whose images appeared in the NCAAs famous video games $20 million. Sam Keller, the former quarterback at Arizona State University and the University of Nebraska, is at the helm of this dispute and feels that the NCAA has unfairly profited from the use of former and current collegiate athletes all the while depriving these athletes of their fair share of the revenue. Keller notes that their are several flaws in the game and sought to collect royalties from the NCAA Football video game just as NFL players do from EAs Madden NFL game. While the specifics are still being discussed, Division I mens basketball and football players are expected to be compensated anywhere between $400 and $2000. huffingtonpost/2014/06/09/ncaa-reaches-20m-settleme_n_5473909.html
