We now have eight roosters--@45 pounds of potential close friends for the dumplings--in the freezer down at the Lake House. (All the other freezers are full or under repair.) GA, die Ubergartinherzogin, and I caught the beggars this morning at 0545 when they were still on the roost. I threw them into Death Row and got the fire going in the stove in the Summer Kitchen. Once the water was boiling, I began doing a bit of head chopping. Long and messy story short, I got all the chicken blood showered off. I cannot wait until it gets cold so we can make some serious bird stew. /// Called Sears this morning in between chops. I am getting two of the Solar-Fired freezers repaired. I want as much right as I can before WW3 begins. Also moved all the canning equipment from the Armageddon Shed to the Summer Kitchen.
