We really enjoyed our two nights at Pat Busch Private Nature Reserve. We were in Fig Cottage and it has everything you need, from a ceiling fan to a crate of firewood. Its a beautiful reserve with a lovely dam for swimming and paddling, and various scenic walks and hikes. We spotted a couple of big tortoises munching in the grass, loads of birds (including an inquisitive owl)and fallow deer that visited near our cottage at night. There are various highly rated restaurants nearby, a lovely couple who sell home-distilled lavender products from their farm just a few minutes down the road, and, of course, some of South Africa best wineries nearby. We would definitely recommend Pat Busch Private Nature Reserve for a slow winelands weekend, or for a longer stay to enjoy the natural beauty of the area. Tamara Oberholzer, Jan 2014
