We spent the morning strolling around a bit of Salt Lake City. It - TopicsExpress

We spent the morning strolling around a bit of Salt Lake City. It is a beautiful city. A lot of activity and much to offer. We went to the pet store there to get Maddies mani-pedi and food. When you are on the road, you need to pick up supplies while they are available. One of my friends messaged me to ask if I would do this again. Immediately I thought, not would I do it again but I absolutely cant wait to do it again...just a little differently. It is a great deal of work to travel alone and without a car. It is not easy to get around in a motor home so the places and sights we visit need to be selected carefully. I was going to pop into Nevada today to see the Great Basin but vehicles over 22 feet are not allowed. I wouldnt have wanted to drive the grades in the motor home, I am sure of that! I have missed most of the cities, again due to the logistics of the way I am traveling. I chose to do the back roads and National parks because I love nature, wildlife and history. I also wanted to experience an America different from Shrewsbury, MA. In the future I would like to travel the country again but with a car in tow and a companion that can share the planning, driving and packing as well as the fun times and activities. The purpose of this trip was to put time and distance between my old life and my new life and to figure out where I needed to be. I guess that part of the mission is accomplished. I am somewhat disappointed I didnt make it to Alaska but I know I will in the future, just not right now. My angels and saints have truly been working overtime to keep us safe. I am tired and a little frustrated that my foot is still so sore but I know that could be worse and I take it in stride. Today I headed south toward Zion NP. The drive, although mostly highway was pleasant. No big grades or great curves until I got to the last twenty miles. We were singing along to Tim McGraw and Bob Seger and the day flew by. Maddie was sitting next to me wearing her thunder shirt looking around and taking it all in without shaking and panting. All in all, a good day. The photos enclosed are a few on Route 20 East in Utah. Just beautiful scenery. It is the west but not dry and brown.
