CPAF Community Day 2014 is open to all communities. A family friendly event bringing together contemporary arts practitioners & communities of diverse Pacific heritage to deliver performances & creative workshops that explore Australian Pacific identity. A marketplace with cuisine and arts & crafts from across the region as well as information stalls from local Pacific community groups. WHERE: Footscray Community Arts Centre 45 Moreland St, Footscray DATE: Saturday 22 March 2014 TIMES: 11am - 8.30pm COMMUNITY DAY FULL PROGRAM: CREATIVE WORKSHOPS: (Entry by donation) 11am - 12.30pm SESSION ONE > Niuean Weaving Workshop with Niuean elder Aunty Kui Taukilo > Log Drumming workshops with Sounds of Polynesia > Pasifika Oration with SistaNative, Seini Taumoepeau 1pm - 2.30pm SESSION TWO > Hawaiian Hula Dance Workshop with Fipe Keanu and Noelani Le Nevez (Bring a sarong and water bottle) > Maori Weaving Workshop with Aunty Shona Te Hau > Ukulele Jam Session with Sounds of Polynesia (Bring along your ukulele and learn a couple of songs, basic and intermediate) CHILDRENS WORKSHOPS There will also be a childrens arts workshop program that is running simultaneously to the workshop program.
