Weather Forecast for Kent – WEDNESDAY 8th October ’14. Low pressure continue to hang close by thus keeping the unsettled theme going. TODAY . . . It is going to be rather cloudy with showery rain for the rest of the morning, some of that rain could be locally heavy and thundery thus making for a wet start to the day. Also, the low cloud base may fall low enough to shroud high ground to reduce visibility (eg: Capel, etc). However, hopefully things will try and brighten up along with much improved visibility as we wear onto the afternoon with the showery stuff becoming more restricted to the far South Coast, along with a couple more showers running through the county itself. However, what you will notice is the strong to near-gale force southerly wind, especially those living at exposed coastal and hilly area, and that is going to last all day. All that will have the effect of making today’s maximums of 15 C to 17 C feel quite cool and airy. Not at all a good line washing day today, if it is not the showery rain then it is the strong wind. TONIGHT . . . Clear breaks and varied cloud amounts, a couple more showers may skim along the south coast. Although the wind will slowly veer into as a south westerly, it is going to stay on the strong side. While temperatures won’t be falling any lower than 13 C, the strong wind will carry on making it feel cool and fresh anyway. REST OF WEEK . . . Continuing windy tomorrow but hopefully there’ll be some decent bright spells and not as many showers about. While things should slowly settle down by the tail end of the week and into the weekend with the wind abating, the shower risk will never be too far away anyway. Temperatures sticking close to or slightly above average values.
