Wednesday 04 December 2013 Is 25:6-10; Ps 23; Mt 15:29-37 Theme: Number 666 and the New World Order Yesterday, social media in Nigeria was agog with the story of Pastor Chris Okotie’s latest venture into socio-political relevance. This time, he appears to have overdone it. Chris allegedly announced that Catholics will go to hell because of their beliefs. As justification, he gave reasons that are, at best, absurd, and at worst, raise questions about his sanity. However, his allegations of Satanism in the Catholic Church present an opportunity to examine one of the most intriguing verses in the Bible: 666 or the Mark of the Beast (Rev 13:16-17). From stories about Vicarius Filii Dei to outbursts by fellas such as Chris, suspicious fingers have sometimes been pointed at the Vatican by both ‘enlightened’ and ignorant people alike. In what follows, we examine what the Book of Revelation says about the anti-Christ and the last days. In light of information from the GG World HOPE Foundation, we begin with a brief background. In 1913, several seismic events occurred in response to an emerging era of peace and stability in the world. Satan, of course, opposes peace and stability in the world. The most prominent of events that triggered these events are the Reformation and the industrial revolution which spread across Europe and the world from Germany and Switzerland. The other is Christian-inspired constitutional democracy spreading from the American Constitution, which was based on the Geneva and Swiss Constitutions. America’s constitution entrenched God-given rights, responsibilities, privileges and boundaries for free societies. It upheld the power of the people, by the people and for the people to enable free men and women to live, work, save and invest within a just society and economy, and within the love, reverence and ways of Christ. Impressed by the aspirations of this constitution, several nations moved to emulate the USA. To counter this movement, Satan engineered the following seismic events in 1913: 1. The Great War – that is World War 1 2. The introduction of a Permanent Federal Income Tax (Treasury) in the USA 3. The birth of the Federal Reserve Bank in the USA With people’s attention distracted by the horrors of the Great War, the seeds for the New World Order, rooted in a financial system of “Legalised Theft,” were sown. In sum, the birth of the Federal Reserve Bank in the USA opened the door for certain bankers and politicians to: a) reverse the religious, financial and political freedom, which more and more people were beginning to enjoy; b) get their hands on people’s hard earned wealth, savings and investments; c) rob unsuspecting, un-informed people worldwide of their opportunity to be financially free, and thereby jeopardise their personal happiness, marriage harmony, family unity, work fulfilment, and positive impact on their communities; d) introduce unjust standards into the global economy; and finally, e) set the stage for a political anti-Christ, who will work with a religious ally to oversee the world-wide apostasy that will conclude our civilisation [Continues tomorrow].
