Wednesday, I awoke early, opened the door, I quickly started hearing the sound any farmer dreads, Dogs barking from the barn lot. Grabbed my boots, heading for the door, Mr. Bootsie asks what is going on? Dogs, I am gone. The closer I get to the barn lot I can tell they are hunting dogs. Maybe broke out of their pen during the night or maybe the humans who owns them decided to train some of their dogs and all of them did not come back. They are close and they are jumping over the creek closest to the coop and barn. After about 5 minutes of looking and checking I see Mr. Bootsie fully dressed starting to make his way down to help. Here I am in nightgown and boots, What a sight to behold!!! He went one way and I the other, He did see the dogs and agreed when we met up they were hunting dogs and happy, happy dogs to be out. After they saw him they seemed to move in another way. As I came by the coop, there was a discussion going on, Who was that, The human that feeds us, No, She never looked like that, It was her boots, I have cleaned those boots so many times I would know them anywhere. Well, I am putting on the coffee pot so we can put it back in our hiding place, you bring our china coffee cups, cream, Little peeps chime in, where are the Corn Flakes with milk? Maybe I will not be in such a hurry to return to the coop to feed them breakfast this morning, seems that they are doing quite well with me. After about an hour, we returned to the barn lot and opened up, everyone was fed and watered. I looked around for a coffee pot and did not see one. Girls were just as happy as they are every morning. Dogs seemed to have left, I just hope they stay away, I stay so concerned about all of the animals we care for. Part of this is true and some is a little tongue in cheek. Smile a little even through things could get bad. I will try to keep a close eye today. I was a beautiful morning, bright, crisp and little feel of fall. I know my day is going to be a good one and I hope yours is also.
