Weekly Update (Week 4 of 52): Sorry for delay in posting, the holiday has us running behind a little. A few things happened this past week that I am excited about. The deposit was made on the the event location so we are set at Lake Whitney. Online event registration started on the 1st which is great. You may now per-register for next years event! Online registration opened up on the 1st. Currently, PayPal is the only payment type accepted at the moment due to transaction costs with Authorize.net but we hope to be able to resolve that in the future. Manual application forms will be read for download hopefully by the 7th. The earlier we have everyone register for the event, the better we can plan everything out in advance. We registered for our EIN number with the IRS so we can start processing our official Non-profit status paperwork which will be a lengthy process. We have currently been working on a list of sponsors to help promote and fund the event for us. We a looking for Texas based companies that will help support us. LaQuinta, based out of Irving, TX has posed an interest and we will be talking to them soon to see what they can do for us. We are also working on a focused cause we will be supporting for this event. There is one in particular that has sparked an interest and we have them on the schedule to contact. The event officials are scheduled to meet again in a couple of weeks to discuss sponsors, non-profit status, ect to make us more official and to make this event bigger and better as well as successful.
