Welcome to 2015 ! I have some big plans for this business this year, stay tuned for big and exciting changes :-). In the meantime if you ever needed proof of how well our bodies adapt to the stimulus they receive (ie they are good at what they do lots of and adapt to it very well) here it is :- Today I participated in a Body Pump class. Its been and 2.5 years since my body forced me into pump retirement and the last 2 years has been about rebuilding myself from the core out, with Pilates. About 6 - 7 minutes of leg work during the pump class and my legs have been like jelly all day. Yet I have put on leg muscle doing Pilates and have no trouble with challenging Pilates leg exercises. Additionally a full day of up to 6 hours of snowboarding would Not leave my legs feeling like jelly, because they are used to it. When I regularly taught pump my legs could handle it easily. Now they are adapted to Pilates and snowboarding, and an individual who is accustomed to Body Pump leg work may well struggle with other leg intensive exercises. Our bodies are amazingly adaptable. The down side is use it or lose it applies to ability as well. Happy Tuesday :-)
