Welcome to my Foxy’s world… – For the last 14 years I’ve been asked “Foxy what the hell do you do?!” (I apologise in advance for any typos, grammar and spelling. I’ve written this on a trans-atlantic flight from the UK to the USA - I post this on my blog 3 weeks or so but decided to report here for all my FB buddies ) I’ve been earning a full time living online since 1999. At the age of 26 I bought my first home at a shade under $1 million dollars. Two months later I bought two Ferrari’s , Porsches and a gazillion other fancy cars At the age of 28 I’d bought a luxury yacht and full filled a life long dream by sailing to Mediterranean from the UK (an epic 3 week voyage ) And for years I flew by private jet…. why you ask? BECAUSE I CAN! And you can too – believe me… I chose life on my terms and wasn’t afraid to do thing things we all want to do but are never brave enough strive for I started with less than nothing. No money, no rich parents, basic education…Just a man with a vision, a dream that I had to pursue no matter what the cost. So today I’d like to share my story with you.. “Foxy – what do you actually do?” I’d just bumped into an old school friend at the garage where I was filling my car with fuel and he was curious to know what my job title was… People get confused when they see a 26 year old roar past them in a Ferrari 360 spider with the roof down , smiling and loving life breaking the rules and limits that life sets you. Espeically when you’ve dropped out of high school and the last “real job” was as a car washer earning $5/an hour or $150 a week. For time sake I’m just going to concentrate more on the last 6 or 7 years and touch on the years before just briefly. I’ll reveal details how I’ve had 7 figure product launches , Multiple high six figure promotions, $100k net earnings in a single week as an affiliate, sold multiple business well in excess of several $100,000′s and how I fell IN and OUT of love with my businesses.. and why I re ignited the fire.. Here’s why I live the way I do thing.. open your minds… it’s about to get ugly 14 Years Ago – 1999 At 18 years old I got involved in Internet Marketing really from the birth of the industry. It hardly existed back then. I primarily learnt from a legend ‘Corey Rudl’ who unfortuantely passed away in a car crash. Corey had a course “The Internet Marketing Guide’ which was a great A-Z start up guide. Over the following years I’d became good friends with a man many of you may know, Yanik Silver. Yanik’s Instant Sales letter product which cost something stupidly cheap like $47 was one of the guides I learned to start copyrighting. He’s been one of the biggest influences in my life. If you ever get the to chance learn from him, go to his seminars – he can only have a very positive influence on your life. Also marlons Sanders amazing sales formula is AWESOME Summer 2002 There was a big Internet Marketing seminar being held in Las Vegas . It was called ‘The Internet Marketing Super Conference’ hosted by a guy called Carl Galletti Through my friendship with Yanik (who was speaking at the event) , he suggested to Carl about me speaking. I contacted Carl and he said he would love to have me over. As a 21 year old guy from N Ireland who had been very successful online I was quite unique. I think the next youngest speaker was Terry Dean who was 28. So I dragged my butt on a plane and off to America I went. I spoke on Sunday after staying out till 6am or so in Vegas! My head was thumping! Anyway seemed to get a good reception and was mobbed by the crowd. “Chill out guys – I’m just a guy who makes some good money on the Internet – no big deal”. Over the following years I attended a few seminars including Yanik’s Annual Underground Online Seminar which was packed full of fantastic networking. I’d like to says the speakers were good but I’m the type of guy that hangs around the hallways and the bar I find it very hard to learn in a “speaking” environment even though some of the speakers are AMAZING talented people. San Franciso 2003, another event called big Seminar hosted by another genuis Armand Morin. One of the highlights was meeting someone in person I’d been friends with for many years, Frank Kern. We had chatted over email and phone prior to it but sitting down have a pint of Samuel Adams was a good experience. It’s been a pleasure to know this man for over 10 years. People who only know Frank Kern over the last few years ,see a super successful Internet Superstar. The Frank I see is one that has been through the good and the bad and has worked his butt off , put in the hours and its great to see him doing so brilliantly now. He’s also one of the guys I refer to for writing sales copy - gotta love the Kern right? 2004 and 2005 were a similar routine and in 2006 it got interesting. I’d had many great successes in that time and had dabbled in some exciting ventures such as a text message dating system (Back then texting ‘sms’) was all very new. I’d sold a lot of Playstation and Xbox Guides as an affiliate (While everyone was having dinner On Xmas Day I’d be working banking over $1000 for $30 ad spend) . $970 a day profit may not sound a lot but multiply it by different niches and it all adds up February – April 2006 – Miami Florida “Dude do some damn work man”! While I lay on the balcony on the 30th floor of our apartment about about 500 feet high starting at the crystal clear ocean and blue skies , @DaveMiz was trying to kick my ass into doing some work. I’d come out of a business partnership the year before and was enjoying some “time off”. So there I was chilling out, thinking of the next plan and what direction I wanted to go with my life. For the remainder of my time in Miami I partied a lot, worked very little hours (1 -2 a day ) and loved life. I’ve owned every fancy sports car and toy there… But there is a lot of be said for the simple things in life … Waking up in an amazing climate, running on the beach at 7 in the morning with your ear phones in as the sun rises out of the ocean. Enjoying the company of your friends and family and being at “peace “ with yourself. All the fancy stuff in the world will not make you happy – you need to be happy within yourself. Are you happy the way you look, the way you feel inside? The way people look at you… the way people will remember you? We all have the same 24 hours in the day – the question I ask you now is- what are you going to do with your life – Do you have the cajnones to go after what you want. Or will you look back and think…. “What the hell happened? My parent’s sometimes worried I partied a bit too much. It’s true I love partying – I’ve had some of my greatest memories doing it so for me I EMBRACE the person I am – not shy away from it. September/ October 2006 – “Make $250,000 in 16 weeks or I’ll sue” After summer 06 it was time to get back in the mix . My brain was refreshed. I was feeling immensely powerful, fired up and ready for massive action. So I went house hunting. I ended up falling in love with this off plan beach house right on the ocean. The archietect/builder showed me everything.. Full floor to ceiling glass, ocean views, balcony, beautiful wood frames… So we talked turkey…. how much. Now I won’t reveal the exact costs but lets just say there wasn’t much change from a $1million . And this was my first every house purchase… The down payment came to around $250,000 including fees and all that good stuff. The house was due for completion in around 4 months I asked the builder “Eh what happens if I don’t have the money” to which he replied “Ill sue your ass! Mmmmm ok.. Well sounds like a challenge… time to rock n roll. I signed the contract and went to work. Beast mode was on. I told my parents and they thought I was INSANE “How the hell are you going to get that kind of money?” Let’s see what happened.. Bucking the Product Launch Trend with Dominating CB – Oct 06. At the time the marketplace was selling $997 “higher ticket” products. Jeff Walkers (another great friend) had started the trend in 2005 when he released his Product Launch Formula Course. The problem was marketers had just started selling “Anything” for the $997 price point. The quality of product was dropping, refunds were increasing and I seen a gap in the marketplace. I’d been selling stuff on Clickbank for years in various niches. I’d bought resale right to a product from Ryan Diess for $197 and made $25,000 from it. I’d created my own products over the years on Clickbank. I’d promoted all types of weird stuff like teeth whitening and “cure” certain things… So I wrote a guide called “Dominating Clickbank”. It was a REAL solid guide showing multiple ways to cash in (as an affiliate, buying resale licenses or creating your own product as well as other cool things I’d done). I wrote a pre launch PDF guide and sold the actual product for $97 , much to the shock of the marketplace. Everyone was expecting a higher price. Yes people - I bucked the trend We sold over 1000 copies at $97 (Near $100k!) on the opening day and for the months and years to come Dominating CB went to help a lot of people understand the Clickbank puzzle. It’s something I was /am very proud off. Refunds rates were under 5%. Taking my own advice I then sold the sequel to a resale license a product I had co created with Lee Benson “Marketing Quickies 2 ”.This was a collection of video tutorials and tips on “quickies” you could use in ANY business to get instant cash boosts, more subscribers etc Again this was a quality product, and as we had sold the original license to Marketing Quickie Volume 1 we got a lot of repeat business. The license was $697 and I can’t remember exact figures but we sold $30,000 – $40,000 worth The house downpayment was getting closer…and then the shock $40,000 affiliate payday One of my good friends (in fact I would deem him a best friend, we still chat every week) Chris Mcneeney had been doing well on Clickbank as well. He was bringing out a new course February 5th 2007 called ‘DayJobKiller’. It was a guide showing people how to cash in on adwords , ppc, picking niches in a real simple way. I had a fantastic relationship with my list and was preparing them for the launch. I thought I might make $5- $10k commissions but something crazy happened. As the launch happened I was traveling in England . I had programmed the mailings before I left. I was over buying a BMW M3 Convertible. I got a phone call from Chris saying “DUDE – what the hell did you do?! I was confused… Chris told me I’d already banked $12,000 commission or so in 2-3 hours since launch. By the end of the week I’d made around $40,000. By the time I got back to N Ireland with my new car , it was already paid for . EPIC! March 2007 I released a new product I’d been working on called the ‘Guru Slayer’. It was an ebook that taught my systems A-Z of picking markets, writing sales copy, how to track things, understanding the difference between leads and customer lists and a ton more stuff. It wasn’t a massive guide – just the right amount of actionable material needed to make work To date this has probably been my most succesful guide in terms of customer feedback. I STILL get testimonials in from it 6 years later how it helped changed peoples lives. April 2007 I moved into my new house with change to spare! It was a hard grind for 4 months. I even look back no that now and the money isn’t important – it’s the fact I ACHIEVED something than many deemed impossible. That why I want YOU who are reading this now, to know that anything is possible. You just need someone to believe in you. Once you push yourself beyond the limits , develop hyper focus you will be amazed at that can happen June 07 t was time to reap the rewards and start buying the stuff I’d been holding back on for so long. I bought A Ferrari 355 (my childhood dream) and a Ferrari 360 Spider – why have one if you want two I used to just walk around both them in the garage with the grin the size of a cheschire chat. I had loved Ferrari’s since I can remember – I’d been telling people since the age of 7 “Im buying a Ferrari” and now it had happened. The $100,000 Affiliate Commission Around this time I promoted Jeremy Gislason’s and Simon Hodgkinson’s Marketing Main Event. I came 2nd in the competiton , pipped at the end by Ewen Chia! (Grr!) but ended up netting $70,000. A week later I promoted Google Cash Detective and earned a check just short of $30,000 $100k total in a week = BOOM People often asked how I did these affiliate promotions. I’d developed an insanely loyal customer and subscriber list and using extreme psychologcial tricks, pre launch pages, warm ups, bonuses and a few other “tricks” I’ll keep to myself it worked everytime. I shared part of it with Alex Jeffreys and he had his first $10,000 affiliate pay day. 2008 into 2011 – A change in thinking I’m gaping these years together as my plane is about to land! I’d taken on a coaching client which was quite a funny story. He literally said how much do you want and I said “$25,000” . He replied done. I was only joking. Next 3 days a cheque appeared in the mail – Gary has went on to do great things since At the end of 2011 I could see the growth of Mobile and how exciting it was. My brother and I developed a software that could build mobile optimized sites. We released it December 2011 and it exploded . I think we did over $700,000 gross sales in the first month. However I’d had a change in thinking – I wanted to grow this at the outset to exit (sell on) I’d been reading a lot about how many entrepernerus did this. So from the very outset I kept all records, all traffic logs, notes so when it came time to sell I’d have everything a buyer/investor would want 2012 – Expanding into other BIG markets Our mobile product continued to sell very well but my passion was’t really there. We were primarily selling to a “biz op” market . The average client would be very basic and literally would ask questions like “What am I doing?” While the business was immensely profitable I just didn’t have any love for it. On a seperate note.. An interesting offer popped out of the blue – the private jet company I had used before wanted to hire me for marketing consultnacy. I’d built up a good relation with the owner over the years and given him some good advice. He wanted more… so much more I ended up becoming a shareholder in the company! In summer 2012 I began a new fitness enterprise. Again I could see a massive gap in the market. Fitness was a huge industry but I wanted to do things differently. With the advent of social media such as Twitter as Facebook I knew if we could get our customers results, they would help spread the word and effectively become our advertising machine. Our products would have to be good, REALLY good so I partnered with my friend and personal trainer Grant. Grant is a guy who walks the talk. He’s knows his shit when it comes to getting in shape. We have only been selling our products and services for a year and have been profitable from the beginning . Change peoples lives and you have a customer for life Into 2013– Time to move on! Earlier this year my brother and I sold the mobile business. As I explained earlier my heart wasnt in it. I finally wanted to return to teaching marketing and helping people get to where they needed to be. So in the very near future you are going to see Internet Marketing shook up as I bring out various levels of training and coaching. 2013 – Predictions for the future? At the moment I see mass potential in “cloud” based software products. The world is turning very digital and everything is heading this way. SAAS (Software as a service) is huge and I’ve got some very amazing pieces in development due out over the coming months…but thats all I can say for now. NEW STUFF As I publish this to FB Im just back from Canada where I was staying with Peter Parks. Peter is a true underground ninja smashing it with paid traffic amongst other things. yes and near six figs a day revenue.
