Well heres a kick in the pants; I called to make an appointment at East Area Family Physicians for Gene only to be told for the first time that all the doctors are now affiliated with Beaumont only, not St. Johns, and as such we will be treated as new patients requiring new ID and Insurance verifications. In other words, if our local emergency EMS automatically takes us to St Johns (where I have gone for heart as well as diabetes episodes) our doctors will no longer be able to treat us! WTF - the least East Area Family Physicians could have done is to have sent out letters to their patients advising us of this change before you find out the hard way. Whoever made this decision (I am told the doctors did) they sure dont know how to communicate well....also I am told that they are no longer considered private doctors to practice at St. Johns independently. So if your doctor is at East Area Family Physicians on Little Mack, heads up!!
