Well, its certainly not how we wanted to end the season at Daytona, but the blessing is that my driver came away with only a severely bruised elbow. Under hard braking going into the bus stop chicane on the backstretch, the upper third link mount ripped off of the rear end housing causing the rear end pinion to head downward quickly, bending the driveshaft into an auger that destroyed the driveshaft retaining loops and much of the rear bulkhead along with the transmission tunnel. The rear end housing then ran amok destroying everything in its path as the car skidded to a stop. Fortunately it happened at 100mph and not on the banking at a much greater speed. Its now time to get to work, the clock is already ticking towards the first race of next season.
