Well the chiefs of Canada elect Perry Bellgarde Grand Chief of AFN on the first ballot. There are mixed feelings of the results from some of the leaders but this is the democratic process. If is certainly going to be challenging to deal with the many pressing issues at hand that are affecting our First Nations. I would really like the Grand Chief to focus on unity among our 600 plus First Nations as this is the only way we can make change for our people. Our First Nation leaders cant continue fighting with the governments individually as this is ineffective. Our leaders need to collectively unite as one so we can then deal with our issues with the governments. We need to deal with the queen as the treaties were made with her and not these beuracrats which are only administrators and the queens subjects. Ekosana
