Went to partridge yesterday for the open 35 ish turned up and i managed to draw the peg that won the match the day before peg 54, its a narrow corner peg which can be solid when the wind blows into it but it was flat calm and the scum was further down the lake rather than stacked up in the corner, the fish was still there though for the first two hrs as i managed to catch around 50 in the first half of the match on pellet short and a few shallow for around 90-100lb, the 2nd half was alot slower though but i did manage some bigger carp down the side on pellets again aswell as quick bursts of shallow fish to finish with around 90 odd fish for 171lb and enough to win the match. The fish seemed to drift up the other end of the lake as the day went on and the anglers up there seemed to finish alot stronger. 160lb was 2nd from peg 100 and steve openshaw was 3rd with 150lb from peg 10 both anglers catching late on really well which confirmed what i thought but i just managed to hang on. It was also the last day of the junior match aid festival which young carl slack managed to win so big well done to him and all the other juniors fishing and also the guys who run it, it was a real success and everyone i spoke to seemed to love it and cant wait to get back next year for more of the same. Tunnel barn tomorrow for the maver match this qualifier hopefully i can draw a decent peg and at least have a chance as its my last ticket fingers crossed.
