Weve all heard the argument that adopting CCSS will take away our ability to adopt curriculum. This past summer, over 80 teachers and administrators in Warren Township created curriculum maps aligned to Common Core. Grade-level teacher teams developed the scope & sequence for teaching the CC standards, created the timeline, and identified instructional resources needed to support their instruction. ALL of these instructional decisions were locally determined. We have spent a considerable amount of time and resources moving forward with CCSS. This has been an effort supported by teachers, administrators and our board. Our district will go backwards if we do not continue with the Common Core State Standards.
