What a loss for the world of literature. Doris Lessing is one of my favorite authors and was the subject of my senior thesis (which I even won an award for -- something I attribute almost entirely to the genius of her writing and ideas rather than mine). She is a trailblazing feminist and an excellent sci-fi writer a well. I will be lighting a candle for her tonight.
