What a tragedy!!! The Church today works like a machinery!! Its like a ceaseless treadmill movement observing round and routine religious rituals. We rush thru our order of service and we smile home justified dat weve observed Sunday service!! We pray without praying. We sing without singing. Oh yes!! The lips moved but d heart remained unmoved!! No wonder, we SAY our prayers like a schoolboy recites his lesson. We SAID our prayers but we never PRAYED our prayers!! And Oh! we now do 4 Sunday services, 2hrs each, cos we live in a busy busy world dat has more Egyptian responsibilities like never before!! (Nothing wrong with dat). But d truth remains dat We want d religion dats in form of pills. U just swallow it and off u go feeling good dat uve justified ur conscience!! We go to Church by habit not because were hungry for an encounter with Deity!! When was the last time u entered Gods presence and u were lost in worship, adoration and penitence as u fixed ur gaze on dat sacred name- Jesus?? How do we ever expect purity, godliness & chaste morality to flow from all these empty forms of religion which offers lip service to God but shields its heart & conscience from d scorching heat of the Gospel truth?? Oh! That thou wouldest rend d heavens and come down that the mountains of rigid self and religious rituals may quake and tremble at thy presence!!!
