What a wake up call! Recently I havent been able to stop thinking of my friend and her family who have been through a horrible tragedy. So when John and I awoke to knocking at our door at 4 a.m. this morning, I was more than alarmed, thinking of what in the world might have happened. It was a Fulton County Deputy, very nice, but making a safety check on us. It seems our telephone kept dialing 911 but no one was on the line. Then when they tried to call back, no one here answered. Our phone hasnt been working much lately; weve had a repairman two or three times. By the time he got here last time, poor guy, the phone was working again. John and I feel just awful about blowing up the 911 lines when there might have been a real emergency somewhere else. We also feel bad that a policeman had to come here from Lewistown just to check on us. Im sure they have much more important things to attend to. We called in the phone trouble again, took the phone off the hook, and tried to go back to sleep; difficult to do with elevated blood pressure and heart rate! We apologize to 911 and the police department while thanking them for their attention and concern.
