What can you do in Scouting? How about save an entire species of tree? Eagle Scout Archer Hadleys Eagle project was to collect seeds of the native drought-tolerant species of the Texas ash. Its a tree that will eventually disappear due to the accidental introduction of a tree-killing insect in our country. Tens of millions of the trees have already been lost. Archer worked with the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center and organized the seed banking of the Texas ash so that the species could continue to be planted in the future.
