What causes the sound when your spine is adjusted? Once a joint - TopicsExpress

What causes the sound when your spine is adjusted? Once a joint is adjusted, there is a natural alteration in the internal pressure of that joint. The change in pressure triggers the release of gas which is usually dissolved in fluid used for lubricating the joint. Similar to the opening of a can of pop, once the gas is released the sound produced is a “pop” or “crack.” While the sound is interesting, adjustments do not always produce a sound and the sound does not equate to the quality or value of the adjustment.
