What do you do when you love, you give, you work, you sacrifice, - TopicsExpress

What do you do when you love, you give, you work, you sacrifice, encourage, and pray with all that is in you, but you can clearly see that your every word, your mere presence, seems to cause offense? As a parent who has raised 3 teenagers I can tell you that it is a helpless feeling. Your love and concern causes you to want to hold even tighter, but that tends to make the offense worse. Once our hurt, and fear turns to acceptance with our kids we come to realize that it was all a signal that its time to let go. We can find ourselves in this same situation with other relationships. Be it work, church, a club, civic organization, perhaps even with a friend or family member. Sometimes the best and most mature way to show love when offense is taken no matter what you do, is to swallow your pride, dont take offense yourself, and simply walk away as gently and peacefully as possible, at least for a while. Now you may say But I didnt do anything wrong. They are wrong and they should apologize. That may..... or may not be true. Sometimes its difficult to see clearly when emotions are evolved. But, love doesnt keep track of every wrong and sometimes the most loving thing that you can do is part ways friends and hope for the best. In time God will either bring you back to the person or situation, or He wont. One thing is sure, continuing to force yourself, out of pride, where you are not wanted will likely lead to permanent offense and separation.
