What does this win mean for our nation? Heres a simple(yet lengthy) explanation to make people understand what exactly has happened in our nation, India became a free country under the rule of Congress party. While there were other political parties at that time as well, their presence was negligible. India had some great leaders who initiated all sorts of reforms to send India on the path of progress. Years went by, but the ruling party remained the same. Same old Congress party, with hardly any opposition. Slowly the Congress started becoming arrogant, for they knew there is nobody in this country who can defeat them. Whats more, they became a one family party, one that revolved around the Gandhis(who, as surprisingly many do not know have nothing to do with Mahatma Gandhi) . Barring the time after Emergency(which by the way was the time when Hitler like decisions were imposed on the common man of the country), the Congress government had never been defeated. So the responsibility of running this country had effectively simply been transferred from the Mughals to the Britishers to the Congress party. Come 1999, India saw its first coalition BJP government, one that looked really strong, but unfortunately, thanks to it being a coalition and BJPs inexperience to lead at the center, the government made certain mistakes which lead to its ousting and the formation of yet another Congress government. For the last 10 years, an Italian has been ruling over us, ostensibly with Manmohan Singh as our Prime Minister. But thanks to the many misdeeds of this government, it lost many months before the official elections finally happened a month ago. What was now needed was a strong strong opposition who could fill in the vacuum created by the lack of any kind of leadership at the center. Thus rose Narendra Modi. A man whom many, including many leaders of his own party objected to, but still he somehow got selected by the BJP party as their PM candidate. They somehow also managed to even convince the NDA allies for his candidature. But still, with a strong base in only a few states, the NDA couldnt really manage to pull off a win on its own. It would definitely need a lot of external support is what it looked like a few months ago. But then, on the morning of 16th May, magic happened. The NDA pulled off a famous win, with the BJP alone managing to cross the victory margin comfortably. Now this is the worst ever performance of the Congress party in all respects. With Sonia already having taken a back seat, and Rahul being good for nothing , Priyanka is their only hope. If, and in all probability it seems she will not rise to the occasion, this will finally mark the end of the Nehru Gandhi dynasty politics, something which is good not just for the nation, but for the Congress party as well. On the other hand, this is the first time, the first time you have a Non Congress party with absolute majority in the center. The joy, the jubilation, the elation and the celebration that you see is of the order that it is, because this is a historic win, not just for the BJP or NDA, but for Indian democracy as well. For this is the first time, the monopoly of one party at the center has been broken and another one has emerged stronger than ever. While some people because of their ignorance will keep saying, debating and discussing how all these parties are the same, it is only if you try to understand the DNA of the various parties in India, that you will realise what each one of them stand for. Aane wale din kitne acche hote hain, yeh to waqt ke saath pata chal hi jaayega, lekin is desh ka waqt achhe ke liye badal gaya hai, yeh abhi se pata chal gaya hai.
