What makes a party democratic is competition. Divergent opinions and views are the bedrocks for a democratic family. The New Patriotic Party, the perfect definition of a democratic party in Ghana, must strive to uphold the principles of democracy. Many have made it their business to haul invectives at Alan Kwadwo Kyeremateng for exercising his democratic right as a patriot. Such tendencies are not only divisive but dangerous as well. Alans aide is reported to have announced that he will contest the presidential primaries. We should be guided by the fact that Alan Kyeremateng is no different from the Akuffo Addos, Frimpong Boatengs, Kofi Konadu Aprakus and the rest because they are all members of the N.P.P. It is based upon this that I am appealing to all and sundry not to launch scathing attacks on him for declaring his intention to contest. If you do not like him to lead the party, appeal to the delegates. Let us not divide this party over such a trivial matter. If you dont like the man to lead the party, let it be known during the voting process....
