Whats Jubilee All About? When God called us to establish Jubilee in early 1992, there were several disturbing patterns obvious. The Mormons had just passed the Baptists as the 5th largest religious group in New Zealand. The Jehovahs Witnesses had passed the Assemblies of God. The New Age was taking over as the dominant culture in virtually all the Western world. Deception seemed everywhere! We received first-hand reports of people from Evangelical and Pentecostal churches joining cults. So, after thorough research about many groups, we began to publish small books to equip Christians on these issues. This was followed by invitations to speak. Other means of communicating came along, such as videos, DVDs, the internet and facebook too. (For several years we have averaged over 80,000 hits a month on our website.) We also brought guest expert speakers to New Zealand on a range of subjects of interest to NZ Christians, and our range of published material has grown significantly. We challenged Christians to become better informed and to be able to pray and share knowledgeably on these matters. So whats happened in these 21 years? Well, consider the following: * The Mormons have had to close their Missionary Training college in Hamilton as they havent enough members wanting to be trained. * Mormon church attendance is shrinking as many are now finding the real Jesus Christ. (In NZ at least one of their high priests and three of their bishops have left to become Christians.) * The Jehovahs Witnesses have recently sold their NZ national HQ and have moved their base to Australia. * Both these and other cult groups have lost numbers and some are closing branches. * One of the largest spiritual deceptions in NZ has been Freemasonry. They pretend to be Christians, despite virtually every Christian denomination stating it is impossible to be a Christian and a Mason at the same time. (See articles with their statements on our website.) * Many Masonic building have been sold (5 out of 6 in our city). Theyve had to sell their national HQ in Wellington and move to a smaller one. * Close to 80% of Freemasons in New Zealand have resigned, and many have now become Christians. (Their website has a graph showing they will cease to exist by 2020 at their present rate of decline.) That leaves about two million NZers with Masonic curses that still need to be broken. Some might mistakenly presume that Jubilees function over the years has been negative - to go after spiritual deceptions! That presumption is wrong. Our calling from God has been to upgrade the knowledge of God and His word by Christians in this and other countries. Those issues mentioned above are just by-products of Christians growing in their faith in and knowledge of God. Our biggest buzz comes from training people in Biblical healing, and trying to restore a Book of Acts church for participants. A number of churches and ministries claim this mission statement, To Know God and to Make Him Known. This is good, although it doesnt spell out how theyll do so. It states that our priority relationship is with God, and implies that we should share about that relationship with others by example and word. If all the people in NZ who think of themselves as Christians actually did this, wed have a spiritual revival of unprecedented proportions in this nation, and it would spread globally fairly quickly. Its time to know Jesus and to Make Him Known to New Zealand. Thats why you might require some of the resources we have available.
