When I heard the news Thursday afternoon it came as no real shock, but it did. It stopped me in my tracks & overwhelmed me with a terrible sadness. I shed a tear for Phillip although I never knew the bloke, besides watching his unorthodox yet effective batting technique which I always thought was pretty cool as it shows that to be the best at what you do doesnt necessarily mean it has to be done by the book, embrace your individualism, creativity & most important your belief in yourself !! Thanks Hughesy !! I guess the tears are my coping mechanism in the face of tragedy & terrible sadness, cathartic in its purpose I guess. But with the tears came a rush of pure emotion, LOVE ! Its the LOVE that keeps us moving forward, its the LOVE that binds us to one another & its the LOVE that we share with each other that gives us the strength to carry on. The pain will never leave you but as long as you continue to LOVE & be LOVED you will rise to greet that sunrise over sea with a smile & with the understanding & balance of one who has LOVED. I saw this today & just had to share, if you havent seen or heard Richies words for Phillip then have a listen. Hearing Richies unmistakable voice it brought a peace & comfort for me plus a few more tears. Thanks Richie, I believe its what the whole of Australia needs to hear to heal after such a tragic & pointless death. VALE PHILLIP HUGHES !!! Forever 63 not out !✌️
