When I was a teenager, living in Jurong East, I would peep through - TopicsExpress

When I was a teenager, living in Jurong East, I would peep through the balcony window to see the sacrifice of the sheeps held under the green tent of a mosque. Today, following my hubs to buy breakfast at Sierra Perdanas neighbourhood, the sacrificeD was made along the street. I noticed each group had their own sacrificial animal. The sacrifice was made by the head of the family, the women were standing at the side holding the hands of their daughters. Uncles and sons helped in bagging each meat into orange and red plastic bags. It was quiet only the murmurrings of soft prayers could be heard. And I looked at the ground, where the sacrificed was made, surprisingly no mess of blood splattered. One family has just ended. The head man, neatly fold the green canvas, only to reveal an untouched piece of road. As if nothing has happened that morning. The man looked up and waved and beckoned my hubs to approach. Hubs stopped the car, alighted. I went to the woman and gave Salaam. We didnt get to buy our breakfast. But we returned home with a pack of ceremonial food from the mans house. We are humbled by this Experiance, and may the word Sacrifice not only meant for the love for your family and close ones, but strangers who may or may not be in need. Only HE knows best. .... To Give with Keihklasan (sincerity)... Eid-ul Adha Mubarak to all.
