When a Twitter campaign goes wrong: This is a perfect example of a disconnect between the internal perception of the brands reputation and the actual reputation of the brand. Clearly the NYPD did not believe this is how people would have responded or they wouldnt have implemented the campaign. Thats why your social media strategy should also be a component of your overall brand strategy. It cannot and should not exist in a vacuum.
