When did elementary school season start so early? People have been showing photos on Facebook of their little shavers (and all your kids are adorable--I am so envious) before beginning their years first day for a week! It seems to me that back when I went to school we barely had but a few days of school before Labor Day. Are they getting out earlier in May? Has this been proven as a more effective method? Or is this another manifestation of parenthood by proxy? Another symptom of a society in which both parents work and are unburdened from the cost of day care by the school seasons earlier arrival? What am I missing? If I were a kid, Id think I was getting jipped out of one of the best summer months.
