When has SRC head Bill Green ever stepped into a classroom? Is he an educator? Does he know the sacrifices that most in the District have made? Where does he get the nerve to speak of the sacrifices that everyone else has made and imply that the teachers havent made enough? We sacrifice when we show up to teach and lack the basic supplies that our counterparts in the suburbs and city charter schools have. We all sacrifice when we show up everyday to teach a class of over 30 students....but we do it despite the horrible attacks of an incompetent governor and an SRC that blindly follows his commands. When will the public and press seriously ask how we got into this financial crisis? The answer is not the teachers. We show up and do our jobs. I dont make budgets. What I do is teach.
